Master Thesis Completed at OM
Peter Andersson and Marcus Schwartz have successfully completed and demonstrated their Master Thesis titled A Concept Demonstration and Framework for a Multi Device Land and Sea Surveillance System at Chalmers University of Technology, in cooperation with Ocean Modules Australia Pty Ltd.
The application allows multiple operational units to subscribe to any number of data sources, such as video feeds, sonars, camera images, GPS positional data or various alarms and sensors. Any unit connected to the network instantly presents a list of offered services to all other units, with no configuration at all.
This approach allows any number of units in the air, on or below the water surface, in vehicles, on foot, in permanently mounted locations or in a remote location to have instant access to all data relevant to their specific mission.
In combination with Ocean Modules’ patented Spot.on software, the system can provide a complete monitoring, detection and recording facility able to cover a large area, such as a harbour.
