V8 Inspecting Confined Space (Video)
DeepOcean is using their Ocean Modules V8 Sii ROV to inspect confined spaces at depths of over 100m for client Statoil. The revolutionary stability and control of the V8 Sii allow sophisticated inspection of cramped areas not previously possible.
The video shows the ROV performing an inspection of the concrete gravity base structures incorporating storage cells of production platform Statfjord A in the North Sea.
Production at Statfjord A started 24 November 1979. The facility weighs 600000 metric tons, has a total height 270 meters and provides living quarters that can accommodate up to 206 people.
