V8 Sii ROV to Document Shipworms
Up to 100000 shipwrecks in very good condition, some up to 700 years old, are at risk of being destroyed by worms as sea temperatures rise. A EU-funded project will aim to examine the growing spread of shipworm into the Baltic Sea, and develop guidelines for protection of the submerged cultural heritage, using tools which include the V8 Sii ROV.
In other news, a V8 Sii including a positioning system has been delivered to the Finish Maritime Administration.
