Tracking Cables with the V8 Sii ROV
The Innovatum SMARTRAK cable tracker equipment has been running on the Ocean Modules V8 Sii ROV since the first system was delivered last year. The V8 Sii is the smallest, lightest, most stable and easiest to control cable tracking system available today.
The 360° freedom of movement control system allows the V8 Sii to pitch and roll in order to follow cables at any required angle. Eight powerful thrusters keep the V8 Sii ROV stable and on track, even in adverse conditions.
Besides all this, Innovatum's SMARTRAK is integrated into SPOT.ON. Ocean Modules's patented survey software collects data from the cable tracker, sonar and video into one place, tracked geographically, for extremely simple reporting. This also reduces the need to lug around multiple surface units. The ROV and cable tracker together weigh less than 60 kg.
